President Elect Training Seminar (PETS)

What is Peach State PETS?

A premier training event for Rotary leaders, Peach State PETS provides information, inspiration, and fellowship. Structured to meet the needs of incoming Club Presidents, incoming Assistant Governors, and Governors Nominee, this two day training seminar serves all of the Rotary clubs in three Georgia Rotary Districts (6900,6910 & 6920) (Map) - about 200 clubs. Using inspiring speakers and experienced discussion leaders, this event is designed to encourage participation. An intensive training seminar, structured to enable the participants to extract maximum benefits from the materials presented as well as from each other.

ATTENTION TO ALL PRESIDENTS ELECT
PETS is Mandatory for all Presidents Elect (2009-10)
and is highly recommended for Presidents Nominee (2010-11)

To serve as president of your club, you must attend Peach State PETS or a PETS in another state.  This new rule [Adopted Enactment 07-46] was recently approved by the Rotary International Council on Legislation.  You can refer to this in the Manual of Procedures (MOP page 242 - shown below).  If you are not able to attend Peach State PETS, please contact your District Governor Elect to get up to date information concerning the dates for PETS in surrounding states. Other tentative locations are listed at the bottom of this page.
 

REPORT OF ACTION OF THE 2007 COUNCIL ON LEGISLATION OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL (exact text for reference) "ADOPTED ENACTMENT 07-46* To provide that the president shall continue to serve until a successor who has attended the presidents-elect training seminar and district assembly has been elected IT IS ENACTED by Rotary International that the STANDARD ROTARY CLUB CONSTITUTION be and hereby is amended as follows (page 242 MOP) Article 9 Directors and Officers Section 5 Election of Officers. (c) Qualifications. Each officer and director shall be a member in good standing of this club. The president-elect shall attend the district presidents-elect training seminar and the district assembly unless excused by the governor-elect. If so excused, the president-elect shall send a designated club representative who shall report back to the president-elect. If the president-elect does not attend the presidents-elect training seminar and the district assembly and has not been excused by the governor-elect or, if so excused, does not send a designated club representative to such meetings, the president-elect shall not be able to serve as club president. In such event, the current president shall continue to serve as club president until a successor who has attended a presidents-elect training seminar and district assembly or training deemed sufficient by the governor-elect has been duly elected."

How Do I Register ?

This year’s event is March 07 & 08, 2009, and registration is by on-line access. You must register online and use a credit card to pay. No mail in registrations.
